The Creatures

Heathfield provides a habitat and sanctuary to a variety of fauna including the following wildlife:

• Newts - including the rare Great Crested
• Frogs and Toads
• Our resident Fox which actually plays a friendly little game with Jack, one of our lawnmowers
• The occasional Badger (we suspect)
• Various aquatic insects including Pond Skaters, Water Boatman, Caddis and several Dragonfly varieties
• Our own colony of bees
• Several butterflies including Gatekeepers (Pyronia tithonus)and Meadow Brown (Maniola jurtina).
